Guilin Airport, Liangjiang International Airport
Guilin Liangjiang International Airport (guilin airport code is KWL), found in July 1993 and opened to the public in 1st October, 1996, lies in Lingui Country of Liangjiang Town in southwest of Guilin is 28 miles (23km) away from city center.
The whole land area of the Guilin Airport is 406 square hectare, a 4D flight standard, a 2,800 meter (about 3062 yard) runway, 150 thousand square meter (about 37 acre) parking apron, 20 gate positions, and a two-storied 50,000 square meters (about 12.4 acre) terminal building. So it can receive a flow volume of about 4 million passengers per year for 24 hours as well as serves 48 domestic and international air routes from Guilin to more than 30 domestic cities, 8 international cities and regions, including Beijing, Guiyang, Dalian, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Zhuhai, Shanghai, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Shantou, Chengdu, Xi'an, Haikou, Tianjin, Chongqing, Taiyuan, Jinan, Kunming, Nanjing, Wenzhou, Changsha, Fuzhou, Lanzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, Seoul, Bangkok, and Fukuoka.
Every day there are more than 97 flights departing from Guilin Airport. Also there are totally 48 airlines domestically and internationally operating businesses here. How to go to Yangshuo from Guilin airport?
Yangshuo has no airport. The nearest airport is in Guilin. As yet, there are no direct buses from Guilin airport to Yangshuo. There is an airport shuttle bus you can take into Guilin and then take a Express Bus or Tourism Boat to Yangshuo. One of the best routes to take to Yangshuo if you wish to head there directly is to fly to Hong Kong, cross the border to Shenzhen, then take a flight from there to Guilin. Both China Southern Airlines and Shenzhen Airways serve this route. Flying directly from Hong Kong to Guilin can be quite a bit more expensive, but only takes about 50 minutes.
The Transportation to Guilin Airport
From the downtown area to Guilin airport there are airport buses which are operated from the exit of the arrival hall to Civil Aviation Mansion every half an hour between 06:30am to 09:00pm. The cost is about CNY20/USD3 per person.
It is very convenient and fast to reach Guilin airport by taxi which costs about CNY100 from the downtown area.
