Arrive in Lijiang, meet with guide and transfer to the hotel. Today take the photos of Lijiang Old Town incl The Mu's Residence and Lion Hill Park.
The Old Town of Lijiang, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture. The town has a history going back more than 800 years and was once a confluence for trade along the old tea horse road. The Lijiang old town is famous for its orderly system of waterways and bridges. The old town of Lijiang differs from other ancient Chinese cities in architecture, history and the culture of its traditional residents the Nakhi minority people, Lijiang was placed on the world cultural heritage list in 1997.
Mu's Residence is situated in the southwest of the Old Town of Lijiang. Mu's Residence today covers an area of 46 mu (about 8 acres) and spans a length of 369 meters (about 404 yards). It sits against the Shizi Hill (Lion Hill) and faces east in the direction of sunrise. The residence is made up of two areas: the office area and the living area.
It is the Tusi Mu's Yamen of the Naxi Ethnic Group in Yunnan. Over the past 700 years, the Mus had always been the ruler of Lijiang. During their reigning, this residence was the center of politics, power and wealth in ancient Naxi.
It was a wise family, which had kept governing the place over twenty generations. Though the emperors and dynasties changed as time went on in China, the Mus could always keep good relationship with the central government and was even constantly awarded. It is really a miracle.
As an integral part of Lijiang ancient town and the major nation-level scenic spot, the Lion Hill Park is located in the centre of Lijiang city. The hill massif is like a lion, thus getting the name Lion Hill. The landmark building of Lijiang ancient town - the Wangu building is located on the top of Lion Hill. This is the best pure wood building in the world, which is 33 meters high. Standing on the building, from the north you can see the miraculous and beautiful Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, from the east you can see the Lijiang ancient town with rivers flowing, from the west you can see the splendid new city of Lijiang, and from the south you can see the Naxi villages and green farmlands.
Day 2 Lijiang (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel. Whole day take the photos of The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Yak Meadow, White Water River.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a mountain massif near Lijiang, in Yunnan province of southwestern China. Its highest peak is 5,596 m or 18,359 ft. The view of the massif from the gardens at the Black Dragon Pool in Lijiang is noted as one of China's finest views. The far side of the mountain forms one side of Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Xia). the snow-covered and fog-enlaced mountain resembles a jade dragon lying in the clouds, hence, the name Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.) with a chair lift ride to discover the much famed thirteen peaks.
Yak Meadow: One of the parts of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, living the Yi and Zang Minorities. It's typical meadow scenery, a holy land for sightseeing and relaxation. There are many scenic spots on the meadow, such as the Snowy Valley, the special Yak Glacier, the colorful Meadow and primitive Pine Tree Forest.
The landscape rises and falls on the meadow. In spring and summer, Yaks with black and white skin wander in grass and all kinds of flowers. In autumn and winter, the mild edge of th meadow becoms a sharp contrast with the peaks of the snow mountain.
The White Water River, a river formed by runoff from the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Surrounded by mountains, the river runs towards the east. 25 kilometers (approx. 16 miles) in the north of Lijiang. The first impression that the river leaves visitors with is the color of white. The water is extremely clean as it is filtrated and purified by gravel and stones when running, and hasn't been polluted at all. Standing beside the river, you will view the grand and charming spectacle of the snow mountain as you are drinking of the water.
Day 3 Lijiang (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, take the photos of Lashi Lake Wetlands.
Lashi Lake is in the basin in Hengduan Mountain Range, 10 kilometers away from the Old Town of Lijiang. The grassy marshland on the bank often gathers lots of water. It is the best place for plants, fishes, shellfish and river snails. The grassy marshland and swamp provide a nice home for wetland animals and plants. the winter months ,the lake is home to tens of thousands of migratory birds.including proected species such as the Black-necked Crane, Whooper Swan and Black Stork. The birds come to Lashi lake to feed on its abundance of local crops, aquatic plant species and 7 different species of fish.The class III protected water lily is one of the 47aquatic plant species found in the lake.
In the afternoon, take some photos of Black Dragon Pool.
Black Dragon Pool, is located north of the city at the foot of Elephant Mountain. Running from the Sifang Street for about one km along the Jade River, there is the crystal clean spring.
The Black Dragon Pool Park in Lijiang is commonly referred as the Temple of the Dragon King. It was built in the 2nd year of Emperor QianLong's reign(1737), and then rebuilt for many times. There are many ancient buildings in the park, including Shrine of Dragon King, Deyue Building, Suocui Bridge and Jade Emperor Building and so on. Among them, Wufeng Building is the most famous, which was formerly built in Fuguo Buddhist Temple named as Fayun Attic. However, Shrine of the Dragon King is the major building of the Park.
Day 4 Lijiang / Departure (B/-/-)
In the morning, after having breakfast at hotel, transfer to Lijiang airport for your flight to your next destination.
