Hiking is also a popular activity in Yangshuo. It gives you an opportunity to touch the local villagers' daily life and communicate with the magical limestone landscape freely. It certainly can bring you to a few difficult to reach places and spectacular areas few people visit. You can get a guide from us. Guides can introduce you to local family life.
There are several classical hiking routes below:
-
Yangdi to Xingping - Hiking along Li River
From Yangdi to Xingping is the most beautiful section along Li River. The hike will let you experience the Li River from a different perspective and soak in the peacefulness and stunning limestone (karst) mountains scenery. The hike takes around 6 hours. The path takes you through small local villages, fields, orchards, bamboo forests and along the shores of clear Li River where there are very few visitors. You can touch the mountain, the water and the village with no distance.
- Explore the Yulong Valley on foot
Starting at the Yulong River Bridge, you will follow the farming trails through rice fields, the Limestone Mountains and the local villages. You can visit a local farmer's home. Local people are always friendly. If you get tired you can always hitchhike with a local farmer back to Yangshuo.
Except the above two routes, there are still many trekking routes are waiting for you to discover.
